The big names (and the songs you know)

Fontaines D.C.

Headliner · Dublin

Their first Laneway in four years, with an extended headline set and new songs from upcoming album Dopamine Chamber. You know them for "Starburster" and "Favourite".

The Hayley Williams Show

Headliner · first Australian solo festival shows

The Paramore frontwoman ("Misery Business", obviously) brings her solo show here for the first time, off the back of Ego Death at a Bachelorette Party. Solo pick: "Simmer".

Slayyyter and ADÉLA

Top of the undercard

The two names the pop girlies are screaming about. Slayyyter ("Daddy AF", album WOR$T GIRL IN AMERICA) makes her Laneway debut and is only playing the festival, no sideshows. ADÉLA brings "Sex on the Beat" and The Provocateur.

Also on the bill

Kim Petras ("Unholy" with Sam Smith), MUNA ("Silk Chiffon"), DIIV ("Doused"), Rachel Chinouriri ("All I Ever Asked"), Ninajirachi (I Love My Computer, headlining the Everything Ecstatic stage), Rico Nasty ("Rage"), plus Balu Brigada, HorsegiirL, Jane Remover, 1TBSP, Automatic, Bleech 9:3, Daine, Danny L Harle, DJ_Dave, Ecca Vandal, Florence Road, Gurriers, Rommulas, Tiffany Day, Violet Grohl (Aus only), Public Figures, Swapmeet and Trials. Greatsouth, Mokomokai, O & The Mo and Office Dog are Auckland only.

The verdict: stoked or meh?

Stoked 81%Meh 19%

We read 21 reactions posted on Instagram (under Laneway's lineup post) and X in the first few hours: 17 were stoked, 4 were meh. It's a small, early sample, not a poll, but the vibe is clear. The pop and dance crowd is loving it, with one fan calling it "for the girls, gays and theys with impeccable music taste."

The twist: the two most-liked comments on Laneway's post were both meh. The top one (over 1,400 likes) joked this is a lineup where you search Spotify "hoping you know a single song." Another (nearly 300 likes) said headliners with fewer streams are a step down from years with Charli xcx and Chappell Roan.

Who people hoped for (and didn't get)

Tame Impala was tipped in the pre-drop predictions. Tate McRae and Sabrina Carpenter were floating around fan rumours. This Is Lorelei was in the leaks before the drop and didn't make the final bill. None of them are on it.

Canberra check

No Canberra acts on the bill this year, and no Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers, who we reckon deserved a spot. Good news: you can see them at home first. Teen Jesus and fellow Canberran Genesis Owusu headline AfterHours at ANU's Chifley Meadows on Saturday 17 October. Early-bird tickets are $90.

Centennial Park is three hours up the Hume.
